Summary
This is an original work written as a background story for my ongoing Dungeons and Dragons campaign titled "Horizon Walkers". It details the origin story of an NPC villain named Caldera and how she came to be the character she is within the campaign. You don't need context from the campaign for this story to make any sense, so feel free to read it even if you have no idea what HW is besides what I've detailed here.
It was written as a way to provide some backstory for a character without finding a way to weasel in an exposition dump for the character.
