He almost didn’t want to believe Rex when his older brother told him that he heard Echo on Anaxes. But then again, he did want to believe. He didn’t want to be the last Domino. He didn’t want to continue to be the ARC trooper with a dead brother. "
Fives struggles with learning that his brother could be alive, struggling to keep just enough hope so that it won't feel like he lost his brother again. This is just my interpretation of how Echo's return ARC (hehe pun intended) would go if Fives was alive
