Summary
“Well, I mean it’s not too late, y’know,” Martin said with a small, nervous laugh. “Unless the world ends.”
“...Yeah.” Jon forced his voice to sound at least a little light.
“But you know, it was…” Martin added, quickly. “It was really good to see you.”
He reached out as he said that. It was a small movement, not even a sudden one - it looked like he simply wanted to rest his hand on Jon’s shoulder for a moment.
And Jon… Jon tensed up, and flinched away from the touch.

Summary
God, what was he doing? The Unknowing was a couple hours away, he should be double checking plans, maps, supplies, talking with Daisy and Basira, doing anything useful, but instead here he is, sitting in his office alone, and.. reminiscing. God, how awful was that?
It’s the night before the unknowing, and Jon is spending it thinking about times in his relationships with Georgie and Tim, and learning about Martin.

Summary
Even if he'd made the decision to trust the others, Martin was perhaps the only person in the Archives he could truly call a friend anymore, and well, it would be a lie to say that didn't simply like the sound of Martin's voice. And the real Martin had certainly already gone home for the evening. Not that Jon would have known what to say to him if he hadn't. What are you even supposed to talk about when one of you might die tomorrow?

Summary
“No,” Tim hissed harshly down the line, and for once in his life, Jonathan Sims found himself at a loss for words. “No, you don’t get to do that—you don’t get to do this, Jon, alright? You don’t get to call me from America like everything is fine and fucking dandy.”
A plaintive I’m sorry hung in the space between Jon’s throat and his lips. With great effort, he swallowed it back.

“As if you haven’t spent the last two years being needlessly cruel,” Tim drawls. When he sees the way that Jon flinches back, imperceptible and involuntary but there all the same, he laughs that same rough laugh and adds, “Aw, did I hurt your feelings, boss? Want me to kiss it better?”
Jon’s blood freezes in his veins. “Don’t,” he intones, very softly indeed.
Or: The Unknowing is coming on fast, but for Jon and Tim there are a few more things to say. (Coda to MAG 116: The Show Must Go On.)

Summary
Tim barks out a laugh— harsh, cold. Fake. It’s completely alien, just like everything about him now.
The Ship of Theseus comes to Jon’s mind, unbidden— if you took everything away from Tim that made him Tim, replaced it with new pieces, bit by bit… Was he still the same person? Was there anything left?

Summary
The date for the Unknowing is slowly but surely approaching, Jon is still a target, and the Archives are struggling to figure out what the Stranger's next move may be. As everyone scrambles for information, Jon comes up with a plan that might just succeed in stopping the Unknowing and saving the world, but it will take a lot of trust in one another.
After all, The Dance takes two.

“What are you dreaming about?” he murmured softly to himself, just barely resisting to urge to reach out and brush away a curl of hair that had fallen in Martin’s face.
And-
The Eye showed him.
Oh.
Oh, that was… that was… graphic?
-----
Jon accidentally sees one of Martin’s… intimate dreams about the two of them and completely misunderstands what it means. -

Maybe Tim going into the alleyway where he knows Jon's having a smoke the night before the Unknowing is a really bad idea. Maybe he does it anyway. Maybe he's not completely certain why.

“Gerry? Is that you?” Jon eventually managed to squeak.
“Yeah? I take it it’s not obvious?”
“Well, no.”
“Oh great. Some fucked up body horror thing, I imagine?”
Jon took a breath and held it. “Gerry, you are a salamander.”
A disturbing Flesh influence brings Gerry back as a salamander, and forces him to confront his connection to the Fears. The Archive team helps Gerry procure his treasured Animorphs collection. Shenanigans (and body horror) run rampant.
Set at the end of Season 3 just before the Unknowing.

Summary
Jon had never loved the taste of tea. He didn’t mind it of course, though he liked some blends better than others (masala chai was a favourite, but he couldn’t countenance herbal tea - at best, it tasted like nothing, and at worst it tasted like the herbal remedies his grandmother had plied him with every time he got sick as a child) but the taste wasn’t really the point. The point was the feeling of the mug in his hand, the warmth that leached from the liquid to the ceramic and out into his palms.
A look at Jon's relationship with tea, warmth, and comfort. (And Martin.)

Summary
for JonDaisy Week 2022, for the prompt: Hope
Daisy sits backwards in one of the chairs in Jon’s office, with her chin propped up on the backrest, and for a moment, Jon can almost forget that she’s a terrifying predator. They’ve just returned from another interrogation, and it went well. They gained some important information from the Stranger creature, so Jon is pleased, and it gave Daisy a good chase before she was able to subdue it. She also clearly took pleasure in killing it, because this one was a bit closer to living than taxidermy or waxwork and it bled a lot.
She’s satisfied, content, in a way Jon hasn’t seen her before. When she’s like this, he can understand why Basira is so fond of her. Daisy and Jon are unwilling partners in all of this, but there’s still a sense of camaraderie connecting them. It feels good to know that someone has your back.

“Will you do something for me, if we get through this.”
“O…okay?” Jon looks surprised, and Tim doesn’t blame him - they’re not really in the habit of asking favours of each other, but after whatever today has been Tim thinks he might as well try.
“Can you just…can you just ease the fuck up on Martin?”
-
A conversation between Jon and Tim before the Unknowing in which Jon tries to apologise and Tim tries to make him see Martin's glaringly obvious crush on him.

“There’s, uh..” Jon paused, considering the uncertain outcomes of the conversation ahead of him. “A mouse, in- in my room.”
“Mine too.” Tim returned, shoulders falling. He couldn’t keep it up forever. The hatred was exhausting, but it was necessary. But not right now. Just for now. A defeated chuckle escaped him, as he turned around to face the shorter man. “A bit of a shithole, isn’t it?”
“It.. it works. We’re just- It’s close enough to the museum, and makes for easier transport, and-“
“We need to talk.”
“What?”
