“Did those hurt?” Jon blurts out.
A pause. “What?”
“The piercings, did they hurt?”
Gerry chuckles against Jon’s neck and it sends vibrations through his bones, sending shockwaves through his overwhelmed brain.
“These? No, I have other ones that hurt way more”.
“Where are th-“ Jon stops himself realization flaring in his mind and his cheeks flush, “oh.”
Gerry rewards his embarrassment with a laugh, a real laugh this time, it echoes in the room in a way that isn’t quite right. As if the effect of his voice was artificial. A ghostly hand traces up Jon’s ribcage again and he shivers, Gerry’s touch is cold yet electric, a tickle on his nerves.

Tim finds himself pulled back to the archives in the middle of the night. He's not pleased, and it just so happens that Jon is the only person that he can find. It's bad luck, really. For both of them.
