Summary
Jon, Martin and a lot of their friends and acquaintances (Sasha, Tim, Daisy, Melanie, Basira, Georgie, Annabelle, Jane, Gerry, Gertrude, Michael, the Admiral) ended up Somewhere Else. Which was the universe of Our Flag Means Death. Jonah Magnus decided to move the Magnus Institute to a ship (just because) and now they're under attack by a crew of pirates. Jon sends them to Artifact Storage to deal with some of their Leitners. After all, why not?

Mike nodded along. “Yes, I’ve… heard.”
“I checked it out myself last night,” Gerard said. He paused for a moment, smirking. “Couldn’t make any sense of it, of course - I don’t think it’s my calling. At first I was going to destroy it, but, I figured you would be interested in having a look?”
An excitement began to build in his chest at the very thought, and Gerard seemed to pick up on it.

So, he did.
Bodies, mangled thin-skinned bodies scratching at the windows. Their mouths were wide open and teeth covered in black. Jon wanted to know where they came from, he needed to ask. But before he could do anything, Tim was tugging him by the arm to Artefact Storage of all things. It was underground, sure, but no way they could stay!

Summary
Jonathan Sims, Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute, London, has always tried to keep both feet on the ground. It’s a pity, then, that the universe has other plans, and upon making a rather ill-advised decision to read one troublesome book, Jon finds his life quite literally turned upside down. Now six feet overground and one strong breeze away from deep space exploration, he’ll have to reckon with the forces that rule his life—and, ultimately, decide whether they rule him at all.
But while Jon pontificates from on high, the inestimable Sasha James, Archival Assistant and unintended sleuth, is trying to discover what all this is about. Surrounded by suspicious strangers, mind-mangling manuscripts, and unexplained plumbing problems, she has plenty of places to start. She’ll find out who did this, even if it means uncovering a few cults along the way. Even if she feels a strange, growing kinship with the dark. Even if her friendship with Tim is deteriorating more by the day.
Fighting the forces of darkness has never been so lonely.
In which Jon learns to let go, Sasha tries to hold tight, and hindsight is twenty-twenty—assuming you still have eyes.

As breathless as Izuku's statement had left Tsukauchi, he couldn't pack up just yet. No, Midoriya had ended his statement by implicating Aizawa in having also having a part in the disappearance of so many of the villains at USJ so now he had another statement to take. It wasn't the best idea to probe Nezu staff members, especially with Nezu in the room, but Tsukauchi has to know.

“It’s alright, detective,” Nezu assured after a sip from a teacup with a spider web design, “I understand how the beholding isn’t one to pass up a chance to know something so go ahead and ask.”
Tsukauchi nodded in thanks and decided not to ask about the beholding comment for now. Instead, he put a new tape in the recorder and pressed record.

Gerry knew ‘love at first sight’ was bullshit. Love took time, it took work, it took a hell of a lot more than a glance. But the moment he and his daemon laid eyes on his soon-to-be best friend, there was familiarity. The love came later.
Love was the beat of a raven’s wing, the curve of a vulture’s beak, feathers mingled on the floor, the touch of a fated hand. It all comes out after a disastrous Leitner hunting trip.

Summary
Jon unwittingly finds a Leitner while sorting through document storage. It's disturbingly reminiscent of the one he found as a child and even worse, no matter how hard he tries, he just can't quite seem to resist what it's trying to make him do. Any attempts Jon makes to warn the others about the book he's read or the danger he's apt to put them all in is rendered physically impossible by the book's hold on him. (Takes place during middle of season one)

Elias put a Leitner on a shelf of new books for the library with the belief that one of Jon's archival assistants would read it, turn into a vampire, and mark Jon for the Slaughter. Unfortunately, though he told Jon to have one of his employees do it in the morning Jon knew it would bother him all night if he had to remember to tell someone in the morning so he just did it himself. Whoopsie.
