Summary
After the panopticon crumbled, Jon found himself alone in the dark, on the edge of space and time. Rather than waking Elsewhere, however, he stirs into September, 2011: before the Archivist, before the Archive, and long before the world had come undone.
The trouble is, Jon can’t remember much at all.
But he does know that something is different now. Memories linger at the edge of his vision, nothing is exactly as it should be, and there’s a certain tension in the air.
It’s 2011, and the sky is blue, and the world is quiet, and something is very, very wrong.

“Jon, this is why I'm here. I'm s’posed to protect you. Your work is too important.”
“Not at the cost of your own life.” The reply is curt, nearly as sharp as the blade that cut into the meat of him hours before. “Not…not when it's my fault. I lost my temper, and I got caught. Should have just let her hit me.”
“It wasn’t your fault. You're just trying to live. It's not your fault you gotta hide like this.” Martin straightens his posture, lifting his arm with a tired grunt to grant Jon further access. “And, I'm sorry, but that actually is the deal. This is what I signed up for when I became a knight. It's what Lord Rayner and Sir Dekker have asked of me. Protecting you is my duty, and if I die in service of that, then I die. It's part of my oath.”
With the wrapping secured, the room goes deathly still. Martin searches for more words of comfort, more ways to explain that this is what he's expected to do. What he's trained for. All he's ever been good for.

Michael's eyes were wild, but they contained none of the flashing colors or headache-inducing patterns of before. Those colors had been replaced by grey irises which darted about, landing on Martin, on Jon, on the front door, back to Martin, back to Jon.
When a supernatural headache leads to a very human former Distortion on the front porch, Jonathan Sims and Martin Blackwood decide to give the confused Michael Shelley a chance, allowing him to stay in their safehouse until they can figure out what to do with him. Michael gives being human again his best shot, despite the lingering effects of the Spiral.

Martin didn't just sit by while Jon was missing again due to kidnapping. He got annoyed that he wasn't showing up to work or answering his phone and went to give Jon a piece of his mind. He subsequently discovered that Jon had left Georgie.
Tim flirts with Michael for information and Martin goes for fire-filled revenge. Tim joins him to avenge Danny. After all - they can't very well do an Unknowing ritual if they're all flame-throwered to death now can they? -

The fog comes back.
Nothing else has found its way into their safe little haven yet, but the fog does, creeping through the cracks of their cabin, blanketing them in thick, heavy billows.
Jon is there every time, he's there to pull Martin back when he gets lost, bleary eyes and hands so transparent Jon's fingers glide right through when he reaches for them.
"Martin", he says, forcing a shaky smile on his lips as he tries to hold onto the warmth Martin's name elicits in him. "Martin? Come on. Come back to me."
"Jon?" His name echoes, the mist thickening.
"Yes", Jon says emphatically. "I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere without you. You're not alone anymore, Martin, remember?"
Martin blinks, something sparking up in his eyes, but the cold fog sets heavily around them, blurring Jon's vision.
"No!" Jon reaches out, won't let himself lose sight of Martin ever again, he won't let him slip away. "No, you can't have him!" he yells into the cold white all around. "He's not yours to claim!"

Or, the one where Jon and Martin try to find what happiness they can, despite the Lonely looming, the Eye watching, and their own doubts weighing them down.

**There will be gun violence and blood. This is a military installation attacking the institute. No characters die though.**Set in an AU where the OIAR and the Magnus Institute are in the same universe. Around the middle of season 4 TMA, the OIAR gets wind of Jonah's plan and enacts the protocol with the goals of killing Elias Bouchard / Jonah Magnus (the person planning evil things) and Jonathan Sims (the unfortunate soul who's being groomed into a world-ending monster, it's nothing personal he's just too dangerous to live), and burning the Magnus Institute to the ground. Because that's what they do over at Starkwell.

He nuzzled into his furry bed, moth wings fluttering lazily as he let out a contented sigh. Said bed was also enjoying the afternoon sun, little snores escaping the cat as she slept soundly.

Summary
Jon is a dryad. Martin and Sasha are human witches, Martin specializing in charms on others' emotions and Sasha in practical spells. Tim is a human knight. They're all working at The Magnus Institute, a major business owned by Elias Bouchard, that focuses on both the paranormal and property development. He destroyed Jon's forest so now he lives and works at the institute, trying to fit in with humanity. Tim ran out of money on the search to avenge his brother so he's temporarily here to save some up and hopefully learn some useful information.
Jon doesn't really know how to be human but he's trying. He needs to try to keep it undercover that he's not because there are those out there who would capture him for science or military things.
Gertrude, Jon's predecessor, has gone missing. She's totally not hiding in a cave somewhere with Gerard Key, the two of them Eye Desolation Avatars, making plans to take on the evil capitalist Elias after his (unknown to him) failed murder attempt. Nope.

The aftermath of "Jon Doesn't Want to Die In the Panopticon Without Experiencing Something First."
Jon missed sneaking off the panopticon the night of because he wanted to experience something first beyond what the Eye could tell him and fell asleep after.Now four years later his and Martin's toddler, Katrina, inadvertently rats Jon out for smoking.
This story flips back and forth between present day, starting in October, 2022, and right after Towerfall in December, 2018 and goes through Jon's struggles with various addictions and cravings.
It's fluff and angst. Meant to be cute and funny with a bit of angst. Martin's protective and a bit manipulative. Jon's kind of a mess.
