Summary
Leaning on the dark railing, the view below from Ian’s roof garden from his penthouse is nothing but bright, twinkling lights of cars and shops in the ever-breathing city of L.A. It’s extra busy tonight, people in large groups bar hopping and out with friends; celebrating the final hours of the current year, before it rolls into the New Year.
“You good?” Warm arms are around Anthony the next instant, pulling him back against a chest, a beardy chin nudging at his shoulder.
“Feels nicer out here,” Anthony murmurs. He’s also in one of his strange moods, not quite depressive, not entirely antisocial, yet, if he’s being honest, Ian’s been such a constant in his life that Anthony feels off without him there.
Without Ian (as he’s so harshly learned) it’s like functioning without a limb and a phantom pain that lingers.

“Sorry I didn’t learn to eat my feelings, like a normal person would,” Anthony grumbles and pauses to give Ian a pointed look. “Or learn to stuff it down and turn it into a sociopathic disorder and turn me into a crime lord,” his gaze is cutting when he looks at Ian.
“Okay, damn,” Ian whistles. “Touched a nerve, sorry, man.”
“And I don’t speed walk away from my problems,” Anthony curtly lists off, taking another bite of his now soggy cereal.
“I don’t speed walk away from my problems!” Ian sulks.
