Their roles weren't big or particularly important. At least, that was the plan at first. The pair was only supposed to keep an eye on the safety and whereabouts of Nayeon. Once the target was interested, they were supposed to follow the couple to keep the girl safe. That's all that was required of them... The target had to take their bait and he did, just not the right bait and not to the extent that was expected.
