At this, Kassim chuckled, running a hand over his rain-soaked face and lifting his eyes to the ceiling. “I don’t know. I honestly don’t know. And I think that’s the scariest part about all this. I don’t know why… so I don’t know how to stop myself.”
During a week-long celebration at the palace, Kassim’s old gambling habit resurfaces. When faced with an odd wager that could spell disaster for the palace, he finds himself torn between common sense and a captivating pull: the thrill of the game.
