My Favorite Part's~~They pulled back in sync, hands still on each other’s shoulders, holding each other close. Excited and relieved and a hundred other emotions that came on too quickly to be named.
“That was amazing! You were amazing,” Poe managed to say, struggling to process any thought further than Finn is here, Finn is safe.
“We did it!”
“We did it,” Poe repeated, so glad to be physically touching Finn. He’d had enough friends die in battle to not be thankful for every reunion. A reminder that not everyone has been accounted for.Poe’s eyes met his, warm, brown, expectant.
Finn took a steadying breath before speaking. “You are fearless and kind and more than anything I could have ever hoped for. I’m in love with you, Poe Dameron. I want to be more than just friends.”
Poe let out a sharp exhale before his face lit up with a smile radiant as any sun. He reached his hand up to cover Finn’s own. “That’s good to hear because I’ve been in love with you since the moment you shed that stormtrooper helmet.”
A smile broke across Finn’s face and his dark eyes shone, joyous and fond. Poe wanted to kiss him, he really wanted to kiss him.“We can go to the party if that’s what you want, but for the sake of full transparency, I’d rather go celebrate on the Falcon, just you and me.”
Finn held his gaze, said it so simply, so earnestly that it made Poe’s stomach flutter.
“Where did Rey say that old freighter landed?” Poe asked, smile creeping across his face.
Finn slid his right hand into Poe’s, pulling him deeper into the jungle. “This way.”
From behind them, Poe could hear their friends’ bawdy cheers and whistles as they hurried to the Falcon. His cheeks heated with embarrassment, but it was nothing compared to the hot press of Finn’s palm against his own, so he paid it no mind.“We don’t have any lube,” he pointed out regretfully.
Poe looked undeterred. “Check that drawer on the left,” he said, pointing to the wall behind them.
Finn raised an eyebrow, but did as Poe bid. He rifled through the drawer’s contents before pulling out a condom and bottle of lube. “You know what, I’m not even going to ask,” he said before climbing back onto the bunk.
Poe explained, “It’s the Falcon, you know we’re not the first to f—” but he was cut off by Finn leaning down and capturing his lips in another kiss.Finn smoothed the furrow with the pad of his thumb. “What are you thinking?” he asked, ready to listen to whatever was weighing on Poe’s heart.
Poe met his gaze and opened his mouth to ask, “Am I really a bad shot?”
He wasn’t.
But Finn wasn’t going to tell him that. -
