Summary
He did it. After 20 years, he finally made it.
Odysseus’ sandals land on the sandy shore, dried ichor clinging to his clothes. He stumbles away from the raft, away from the ocean and its master that kept him away for ten years. But it’s not real until Penelope is in his arms, until he sees the man his son has become. Only then will he know it’s real. Only then will he be able to accept the monster he’s become. Because the monster got him home.
Meanwhile the god who made him a monster lurks in the shadows, watching. No, Poseidon is not stalking, don’t be ridiculous. He just wants to see what all the fuss was about. What kept this damn mortal going? What drove him to keep fighting, to go to any length to get back home?
But in the depths of the ocean lurks a foe that threatens both the seas of Poseidon’s domain and the shores of Ithaca. Can the two kings see eye to eye in time to thwart it and save both their kingdoms?
