Odysseus knew that in being gone for twenty years, he had missed his son growing up. And at least part of him knew that his son had learned to deal with all the stresses caused by his absence in various ways.
What he didn’t know was that one of those ways was…being a little less grown up.

    Summary

A series of oneshots centered around Epic: The Musical and all the trauma and PTSD caused by the events. These all take place within the same world and can be read together like an anthology series or something like that (though for the most part they aren't in any sort of intentional chronological order), but they can also be read individually. They just build off each other as I get more ideas while writing these.

    Summary

Percy Jackson has been through a lot, but apparently, the Fates need him for just one more quest.

    Or two.

    Or three.

    Who's counting anyway?

    Percy. Percy is counting.

Unfortunately for our dear hero, these quests aren't accessible in his town. Or time.

Yes, Percy is thrust through time and space to Ancient Greece, where he must deal with the previous set of heroes, the not yet tempered down gods, and his own sanity as he ventures on into the dangerous land of Greece.

Odysseus had been home for five weeks.
    Five weeks of desperation.
    Five weeks of trying.
    Five weeks of denial.
It only took five weeks of clinging to a fantasy for Telemachus to realize what he should have expected.
His father was never going to be the man he dreamed of.

    Summary

For a while, Telemachus and Polites were quiet, watching the sky fade into indigo.

Then Telemachus spoke, voice small but steady. “Uncle Polites… how come you’ve never married?”

Polites froze. A breeze wandered through the grove, stirring silver-backed leaves. He glanced down at the boy, one brow lifting in mild surprise. “That’s a bold question,” he said, his tone light but not unkind.

Telemachus flushed and dug at the dirt with a stick. “Sorry. I just… everyone else talks about it. The kitchen staff, the maids. Even Uncle Eurylochus talks about Auntie Ctimene. And Papa—well, Mama says I’ll probably marry one day, too. But you never… you’ve never mentioned… anyone.”

Or, aroace Polites has a heart-to-heart with Telemachus.

    Summary

My mom and I had worked in the palace for as long as I could remember. She told me the stories of the gods, the Trojan War the king had left to fight in. That had been nineteen years ago, I’d been born around when the war had started.

Queen Penelope was kind, she ensured my mother didn’t have to go near the suitors at my request. I took over her old jobs that revolved around the suitors. That meant putting up with their endless taunts and jabs. I’d learned to be quick witted and even quicker on my feet.

That didn't stop me from getting in trouble with them, despite my efforts Mom had spent ever growing amounts of time wrapping wounds.

I was well known around the palace staff, the whoreson servant who didn’t know when to keep his mouth shut. That was fine. I’d clean up my mother’s reputation and make the people who doubted me pay eventually.

    Or…

Perseus and his mom Sally work in the Ithican palace, Percy begins to get closer with the prince of Ithaca, unknowing of his own heritage

    Summary

Aphrodite had a very simple set of aspects under her domain. Love, sex, and beauty. All she had to do was help some pining men, make sure women were just pretty enough, and help anyone who needed to get some simple but effective release of emotions. She didn’t exactly have the best reputation –it wasn’t her fault that a bunch of kings swore to protect the marriage of the most beautiful mortal– but everything she did was for the sake of helping those who deserved it.
So it only made sense that she’d find interest in a sheltered, young prince who had been repressing a flurry of complex emotions, emotions that included love towards the father he had never known and lust without a target that he had never been calm enough to let himself feel.
And with that father so close, so exhausted, and so desperate to get close to his son while being ignorant on what to do, Aphrodite saw the perfect chance for her to show her benevolence to those two mortals.

    Summary

The owl finally landed in the sand, right next to. . . "A boy?!" Telemachus gasped, tripping to a stop beside the unconscious stranger.

The boy looked no older than seventeen, with slightly curly jet black hair. His skin was tan, and littered with scars, and ink. He wore what looked to be sleep wear, along with a necklace of clay beads. In his hands was a writing utensil of some type, though it seemed to glow under the moonlight.

The owl called once more, gently pecking the boy's hand.

Aka: Percy ends up in the past, on Ithaca. Telemachus finds him, and chaos ensues.

    Summary

Polites frowned and shifted his weight, glancing out at the sea. The water glittered, harmless as glass. And yet—

A restlessness. A whisper. Like the hush before a storm, when the wind tastes wrong. A prickle at the base of his skull, a flicker in his chest. Nothing he could name. Nothing he could fight. Just... wrongness.

Maybe it was the knowledge that Odysseus and Penelope would be leaving soon. Maybe it was knowing that for the first time in nearly a year, Ithaca would sleep without its king. Maybe it was nothing but nerves, the aftertaste of old wars that never quite leave a man.

Or, when Odysseus leaves for a conference on the mainland, the burden of Ithaca's safety lands squarely on Polites's shoulders. But with dark shadows circling nearby and a young prince to protect, can Polites handle the weight, or is Ithaca—and Telemachus—doomed to fall?

“The physician came in earlier,” Odysseus explained, helping her up slightly enough just so she could swallow, tipping the contents into her mouth. “He said you had a mild fever.”

Fever. Penelope resisted the urge to groan.

She had not fallen ill — well, physically ill — when her husband was away, yet now only a few weeks after his return she falls victim to a fever. A part of her wished to find amusement in the irony of it.

(Penelope falls ill. Penelope has fever dreams. They are not pleasant — hardly anything is pleasant when it comes to fevers, really. At the very least, Odysseus is there).

    Summary

The ships crested over the horizon like tired seabirds, their sails ragged from the journey but still proud in the wind. The waters around Ithaca sparkled in welcome, and the cliffs, long-remembered, seemed to lean forward to greet them.

They had done the impossible. After ten years of war and weeks at sea, the men of Ithaca were coming home—whole.

Or, before leaving Troy, Odysseus does the smart thing and packs enough supplies for the return trip to Ithaca. As a result, all 600 men return. And Odysseus returns to his family.

Meanwhile, Polites's return is bittersweet. He has no family awaiting his return. That is until a tiny hand grips his in the middle of the crowded reunion and a pair of familiar eyes blink up at him.

Now, in this time of peace after 10 years at war, Ithaca's King and his brother-in-arms must rediscover what it means to live free and to make a home in safety.

    Summary

The war has ended, but peace has not come to Ithaca. Its shores remain empty of its men and young Telemachus watches his mother fade as she waits for a husband lost to the sea.

At ten years old, Telemachus is visited by Poseidon. As a show of mercy, the deity offers a bargain: if Telemachus can convince Odysseus that he, his own son, despises him by the end of the month, then his father may stay in Ithaca. But if the Prince fails, he will be cast adrift for twenty years in his father's stead.
