After graduating as a vet, Eivor moves back to her hometown and when she adopts a new dog as a companion she meets this beautiful red head who turns her world upside down. Randvi never thought she would set foot ever again on the race track, after all that had happened. But after a cry for help from Gunnar she decided to at least try one more time. However she never thought that one of the horses of Gunnar would have been poisoned and when more incidents happen, it might have to to with the reason why she stopped racing. With the help of Kassandra and their many friends they try to find out who is responisble for all those incidents.

Summary
Eivor and Tarben have been in a relationship for a while, it's been a secret and they're happy as they are. Ivarr, the weasel, obviously has to ruin it. In doing so, Tarben breaks his oath to never commit violent acts. He leaves Ravensthorpe, while Ivarr exaggerates his injuries. When Eivor eventually finds him, the drengr reassures him. When all is said and done, they visit an old home of Eivor's, where some confessions are made and an old, friendly face appears.
Note: Ivarr is a peeping tom, watching Eivor and Tarben bang without their consent.

Rosta and Styrbjorn take their sons to visit the Stag Clan for talks of an alliance, but a sudden attack by Kjotve orphans the stag clan’s only heir and almost does the same to the Wolf Clan.
Now a desperate and grief stricken Varin breaks tradition to betroth his son to Sigurd instead. Hoping to create an alliance strong enough to finally defeat Kjotve and bring justice to the fallen.
Sigurd looks at his bandaged, best-friend-turned-betrothed, and at the angry tear streaked face of his new sister, and wonders what the future could possible hold for them all.
