Following a crash-landing on an alien planet, crewmembers Markus James and Shawn Cross, as well as the eventual addition of Elizabeth “Lizz” Cross, are left in the struggle to survive. With limited resources and rescue unlikely, their outlook is grim, but giving up simply isn’t in the cards.
This is a republished copy of a story written on the Unknown Worlds Forums, originally published between September of 2017 and February of 2019. It was about a duo, then trio, of Original Characters who replace Ryley Robinson as the main protagonist of Subnautica. It was written at a time when I was inexperienced and young, meaning the quality is significantly lacking even when compared to other outdated projects I’ve written, such as Speechless. It was originally canceled as a rewrite began in 2019, but that rewrite was also canceled not long after due to lack of motivation, and is included as a bonus chapter. With an actual rewrite underway in between other active projects, I believed it was finally time to add this work to The Vault.
