Summary
Lando Norris was twelve years old when he promised he would come back during the holidays.
Rosie Fewtrell believed him.
After all, children don’t usually doubt each other’s promises.
Before the races, the podiums, and the whole world learning his name, Lando was just a boy who shared lollipops, hid drawings inside his karting suit, and built secret bases in his best friend’s backyard. Rosie was there for all of it. From his first victory to his first goodbye. From the promise to write letters to the silence that the years left between them.
Ten years later, Lando is one of Formula 1’s most recognizable drivers, and Rosie is about to see him again at her brother’s wedding. What should have been nothing more than a weekend brings an entire childhood rushing back: memories, goodbyes, and feelings that perhaps have been waiting far too long to be understood.
Because some stories never truly end when two people choose different paths. Sometimes, they simply wait for the right moment to begin again.
