Summary
“Tech, hypothetically speaking, what would you do if I asked for your permission to put a collar on you?”
Rev had rehearsed the question three times on his way to the lab. The first attempt had sounded too casual, the second too suspicious, and the third had been interrupted by his own laughter. He'd settled on a hypothetical, which he considered a stroke of genius until Tech turned away from his monitor.
“I would ask why you're presenting me with a hypothetical question when you're already holding one.”
“Y'know what? I hate that you do that.”
“Do what?”
“Making things impossible to have a normal conversation with you.”
“Your opening question in the middle of the night involved putting a collar on me." The corner of Tech’s mouth curled upward. "I would argue that the conversation was already abnormal to everyone's social interaction standards.”
Tech agrees to humor Rev in a little experiment, confident he can keep his dignity intact. Between Rev’s teasing and Tech’s stubborn insistence that he’s unaffected, the experiment proves rather more complicated. After all, resisting a certain roadrunner’s teasing is easier said than done.

"You totally do." Rev grinned, looking entirely too pleased with himself.
"You've been staring at screens so much this week that you're starting to look like one of those exhausted professors in documentaries. Y'know, the ones who forget what year it is and survive entirely on coffee, I'd say you look like you're in your forties."
Tech stared at him over the rim of his cup. "I'm twenty-two."
"Exactly! That's the concerning part." Rev gestured at him with his own coffee, nearly sloshing some over the lid before hastily steadying the cup with both hands. "I'm two years younger than you, and I don't look like that."
Ever since the charity gala, Tech has noticed strange things about Rev Runner. Unusual nicknames, suspicious messages, the duffel bag, and a laugh that sounds a little too familiar—it's all starting to look like more than coincidence.
As he pieces together the inconsistencies, Tech finds himself caught between a growing mystery, their usual banter, and unexpected moments of tenderness. But the closer he gets to the truth, the more he begins to question what he really understands about his best friend—and himself.

Summary

“No.. Please don’t kiss me.” Tech instinctively pulled away, his brows furrowing in his sleep.
Rev blinked.
“I'm already in love with another Roadrunner…”
“What?!” Rev froze, completely blindsided by the sudden confession. For a moment, he could only stare at Tech, as if his sleepy words had caught him entirely off guard.
“I said I’m already in love with Rev. Just because you smell and look as beautiful as him doesn’t mean I’d want your kiss…”
Rev's beak slowly fell open. Right.. He should've know that after all that unconscious confession.
“Well, I am Re—”
“Zip it, Roadrunner.” Tech pulled the blanket higher and turned away from him.
“Now I’m gonna need some sleep if you'd excuse me and do me a favour, be quiet for me.”
“Tech, you're already are asleep, but I am Re—”
A sleepy hand reached out and gently covered Rev’s beak. “Goodnight!”
Rev couldn't sleep at three in the morning, and his growing hunger wasn't helping. After looting some food from the kitchen, he returned to his room—only to find Tech already asleep in his bed.
What Rev didn't expect was for Tech to start talking in his sleep.

“I’ll teach you everything, you should let me show you.”
The words came easily, almost casually, as if Rev hadn't just said something that could mean far more than he intended. Tech went still. For a moment, he simply looked at him. The playful confidence in Rev's expression hadn't disappeared, but there was something gentler underneath it now. Something that made Tech's shoulders loosen and his expression soften.
“Everything?”
Rev's smile grew.
“Everything.”

After a difficult mission leaves Tech convinced he could have done more to protect the team, he retreats into his lab and refuses to slow down. Three days later, Rev finally manages to drag him away for a late-night swim. What starts as an attempt to help Tech relax turns into an unexpected confession. Maybe, for once, Tech doesn't need to have all the answers.
Inspired by the pool scene from the Chainsaw Man Reze Arc movie cuz I'm still emotionally stuck in this scene.
UPD: I'M AN ABSOLUTE IDIOT. I Ctrl+X instead of copying certain conversations for the summary. I have a feeling something feels odd but I'm too stupid to see what it was until just now. (I should really beta read my fics before posting)
