Max rolls his eyes. “I’ve been briefed by PR, yeah.”
Charles flops down on the lounge, Sassy and Jimmy long gone, and props his feet up on the coffee table. Max rolls his eyes again, then sits down next to him. He and Charles are friends, kind of, and certainly closer now that they’ve ever been before, but he’s never really witnessed Charles having a PR-related meltdown before. They’re not that close.
Oh, well. A first time for everything, he supposes.
“Great!” Charles says cheerily, then unlocks his phone and shoves it in Max’s face. “Do you also know that we’re ranked second on Archive of Our Own?”

Charles loves Barcelona. He really does. It's his second home — he spent half of his life there, he grew up in la masia. Everyone knows that Charles Leclerc, 19 years old midfielder, is a culer through and through. But now? The coach doesn't let him play anymore. He has to watch his team lose from the bench when he knows exactly what they need to win ; himself.
The first proposal comes after a clasico, and Charles finds himself saying yes.
_______Max Verstappen knows how good of a player he is. The four ballon d'ors sitting in his living room prove it, the last one barely a month old. His attacks are fiery, he traumatizes the opponents with his flashy dribbles, and causes scandals each time he opens his mouth. He's the best dutch footballer to have graced the scene since Johan Cruyff. But recently, he's been missing something ; the midfield is aging, and he can't properly attack without someone actually passing to him.
Max finds it hard to admit that the new addition to the team is great. Charles Leclerc is everything he hates — an ancient culer, arrogant, and way too handsome.
