I don't know exactly either but I am interested in not missing my chance to go abroad to meet the people in this department (Cambridge's East Asian one). The rules for this prompt describe a max of 2MB, and it takes a whole lot of words to make up even one MB. The deadline is 8 days from the 7th, so that is... *gets the kettle which is whistling* 15th ahh let's try to figure out something clear by the 14th!
Somebody on Quora hypothesises that 150,000 words can go into 1MB, ERGO that must mean this must have a maximum of 300,000 words. OMG.
Well, rereading the Cambridge website, it REQUESTS one must keep to a word max of 3,000 instead. My dream at being an author was just shot down into the Atlantic Ocean RIGHT THERE.Maybe FIRST DRAFT OF 300,000 then keep 1 out of every 100 on the second draft... hmm...
No no no NO that is INCREDIBLY wasteful...

Last NaNo, I challenged myself to write a story in Chinese "Nihao Maomi" is "Hello Kitty," mimicking "HeLLOO NURSE!"
It is basically a story where there is one female character and three male characters, except that goes wrong in all the right ways. My cat Tilly makes a guest appearance. I haven't come up with Chinese letters for her name yet, and don't know if I will.
Behold what was keeping me busy last November, five months ago! I only wrote a bit more than 17 percent of the goal, but I also wanted it all to make sense.
There are four different permutations of Chinese on this website - I know there are Traditional and Simplified... I picked the one that had the most familiar-looking letters and hoped that was right.
If not, I hope you might understand anyway! I am just learning, and the best way, I reasoned, is practice!
The MFC name is Caihong. The men are Yichen, Ruoxuan, and Xiangli. There are no other characters, or shouldn't be.
The different ways to write the same thing were just to make sure that it got across.
