Miyano and Tashiro round the corner. Miyano freezes in place, feels time slow to a stop, feels the air around him become tighter and tighter until he can’t breathe. It feels like seconds become minutes, minutes become hours and hours become days. In reality, everything happens in just a few seconds. He drops what he was holding, turns around, and rushes towards the front door, his trembling hand covering his mouth in disbelief.
Tashiro looks at the scene before him, bewildered, before running after Miyano.’
