Summary
Buck calls Eddie. Listens into the silence. There's no answer, and he shouldn't feel so crushed, but he does. The thought of letting go of his arm and letting the blood drain from the wound is appealing. Buck almost gives in to it.
"Buck?" But-- Eddie answers him. He really does. Buck immediately forgets what he was thinking. He wants to say, "I miss you, Eddie," or "Do you want to talk for a while before I bleed to death in a godforsaken place?" His eyes get wet because whatever he says - Eddie will probably drop it as soon as he hears it. He uses a forbidden technique.
"Hey," every inch of his body tenses. He's afraid he's missing a chance. "Can you give me Chris? A couple minutes. Please"
Eddie doesn't say anything, and Buck feels himself breaking from the non-physical pain. Of course Eddie won't give him Chris. Of course he'll just drop it and go on doing what he was doing before. Of course, because they don't need him anymore and Eddie hates Buck. The shattered hope and heart feel like a lonely alley, a blunt knife in his body, and a hard wall behind him. And the silence. The silent confirmation that no one needs Buck.

Summary
Neal is placed in foster care when his dad is imprisoned. He goes from foster carer, to foster carer until he meets June who he gets on well with. After living with June for a few years Neal is kidnapped from outside his art school by who thought was a social worker. Neal is forced to use his skills for Adler's benefits and believes he'll never escape. Good thing Special Agent Peter Burke is on the case.

Buck squeezes her knee and looks at her bashfully, “Husband.”
And she’s sobbing now, her palms pressed firmly to her eyes. Her little brother got married and she didn’t even know. She’s missed too much of his life and there’s nothing she could do to fix it.
Or
Maddie does not come back at the beginning of season 2 but a few years into the future and a lot of things have changed for her brother.

Summary
Eddie rests the back of his hand on Buck's forehead, Buck's eyes fluttering as a sigh leaves his lips, and feels the skin beneath his hand, his brows gathering even more. "You're warm. Are you sure you're okay? Is it just nausea?"
It's almost like Buck was expecting him to ask this, because he loosely wraps his arm around his torso to brace it, and lets out a shaky breath, turning his head to Eddie and whispering so small, his eyes glassy and wide: "I don't feel good."
That's all Eddie needs to hear.
His face softens and he gets closer to the other man, chest almost plastered to Buck's bicep, and places his hand on the small of Buck's back. "What's wrong, baby?"
Buck hesitates. "It hurts."
