Summary
“Now, since their natural form had been cut in two, each one longed for its own other half, and so they would throw their arms about each other, weaving themselves together, wanting to grow together.”
Human beings were not in the form as they are in the present—they had four arms, four legs, two sets of sexual organs, and two faces that are identical to each other. They were powerful to an extent that they were feared by the gods, so Zeus came up with the idea of splitting them in half.
One became two, and each will forever seek for the presence of the other. Each distance in between meant agony and pain.
Eons later, this would be called soulmates.

Summary
Kim Mingyu, as everyone who knows him knows, is not the type of person to believe in such conceptual things like deities. He respects the idea, sure, as it's part of many traditions and cultures, but he can't see himself believing and worshipping one.
But as an encounter in a supposed dream felt too real, with the image of the guy that seemed to be engraved in his mind, he contemplated his own beliefs.
Mingyu doesn't really believe in conceptual things, he made that clear already. But that encounter changed his mind, 180 degrees.
