Summary
As the dust settles in the years after the war, the young people of the wizarding world decide that wild parties, endless drinking and shocking behaviour are the best way to grieve the years they have lost to fighting.
Turning his family manor into a bacchanalian getaway is Draco Malfoy’s way of making amends to his former classmates and, this year, he wants to have a party every night of the twelve days of Christmas.
Hermione Granger has never really been one for wild parties and Lucius Malfoy finds that, these days, he doesn’t get a lot of invites.

She's interviewed just about everyone she can get her hands on but she wants to be thorough. And that means getting in contact with a very unwilling Lucius Malfoy.

“You’ve got to be joking. You must have interviewed every living person that was even tangentially connected to the war.”
“Not everyone,” Hermione said, turning in her seat to reach up for the mug of tea she’d left on the kitchen counter.
“Who’s left? The trolley lady from the Hogwarts Express?”
“Your father.”
Malfoy opened his mouth and then closed it again with a click of his teeth, shaking his head. “You don’t want to do that, Granger.”

“His sharp grey eyes run down the doors on either side of the corridor until they land on one that doesn’t have a glass pane. A stationery cupboard. Hand coming up to hover near his wand, he approaches the door with most of his weight on the front half of his feet and, keeping his breathing slow and quiet, leans his ear against it.
The noise again. A gentle, whimpering noise. Breath catching.
