  Summary

  The morning of the 65th reaping. Ever since I can remember 4 had always been a volunteer district,
  Except for right now. Kairos has always been an idiot— a 6 foot five idiot with incredible aim with a spear— but still, an idiot. Trying to do a backflip was a new low. I wasn’t actually at his send off party at the academy, even if I was invited, I need my sleep, so I heard this secondhand from Morgan. Apparently— hopped up on beer— he climbed up to the roof of the outdoor weapons shed, screamed “THIS IS FOR YOU GUYS!” and jumped off.
  He landed horribly on his ankle effectively ending any chance of being allowed to volunteer. With every other aspiring career wanting to save their potential to their 18th birthday (including myself) there will be no male volunteer this year. So what happens next is anyone’s guess.
  May the odds be ever in my favor!
