Summary
When Maeri awakens among the rubble of a ruined ship, she’s surprised to realize that she has absolutely no recollection of who she is or where she came from. Even more surprising, she seems to have an unwanted visitor taking residence in her head: a tadpole that is meant to destroy her from the inside out and turn her into a mindless Ilithid. Maeri finds several others who share her same affliction, and together they travel towards Baldur’s Gate in order to rid themselves of this parasite (and possibly save the world while they’re at it), but there’s just one problem: Maeri’s blood calls out for her to kill. Can she overcome the dangerous urges that bubble within her? Or will she give in to temptation and color the world crimson with the blood of her enemies?

And though they haven’t done anything to have Astarion doubt their intentions towards him, it never hurt to have a little extra insurance. As their eyes met once more, Astarion smirked, motioning Tav over with the slightest nod of his head. His confidence only grew as he watched Tav flush under his preening, quickly heading over to where he stood on the outskirts of the festivities.
“Not one for dancing?” Tav asked, swaying slightly as a slight slur marked their words. Astarion couldn’t help but smirk, at least the wine was doing something for one of them.
“No, not really,” He responded. “At least, not like this.”
He relished in the warmth emanating from Tav’s skin, a blush blooming across their face as Astarion leaned in conspiratorily, his voice dropping to a breathy whisper.
“I usually enjoy more private celebrations.”

Summary
Tav couldn’t help but let out a small laugh in exasperation, clasping their hands together behind their back to stop them from shaking. Gods, why was this so hard? It’s not like it meant anything, they needed Astarion at his best to protect the grove. And despite what anyone else may have to say, Tav trusted Astarion enough to take only what he needed.
A gift, he had called it. One he would never dare to take advantage of. And he wasn’t, they were offering. It was a smart, tactical move. One that was necessary for the battle ahead.
