Summary
Nanami feels guilty. He feels so guilty that one would think that he's the culprit, although he hasn't done a thing, he has just remained silent, but maybe just that is enough to blame him.
His biggest mistake was seeing the signals, bright as neon lights, and ignoring them, thinking that maybe it was another thing. For when he tried to act on them, it was already too late.
(Or, how Nanami overlooked the true nature of Gojo Satoru and Itadori Yuuji's relationship until it couldn't be avoided).

In their next lives, Satoru does find Yuuji, but there's a problem: Yuuji won't recognise him, not the first time, not the second, not ever. They meet again and again, but each and every time, Yuuji forgets about him.
Luckily for Satoru, perseverance is his second name.

“Not like this,” Yuuji protests, the words rotting his tongue, dripping sick down his throat; his hands are still clamped on Satoru’s hips, a touch that was meant to pry him away now holding him close instead. “We can’t, Satoru. You’re—”
“I want it,” Satoru growls into the hollow of his throat, breath hot and wet, and it’s not Satoru speaking, but the fever-flush on his face, in his blood, and there are a hundred reasons to push him away: Satoru’s the Gojou clan heir, and Yuuji’s a dead man walking. Satoru’s sixteen, and Yuuji’s nearly thirty. Satoru is his student, and Yuuji’s supposed to teach him, guide him, not this, never this.
Yuuji grips him tight. “Satoru, you need to—”
“Please, Yuuji,” says the boy.
Take him, says the thousand-year-old curse Yuuji devoured finger by finger, reforged in his soul as a dark mirror.
Satoru’s in heat; it’s Yuuji’s problem somehow.
