Summary
After spending two years on Paradis Island as part of the post-Rumbling diplomacy mission, Pieck Finger returns to the continent and struggles to find a place for herself. A chance encounter leads her to discover that Zeke Yeager is still alive and might be returning to New Liberio.
This started about a year ago as a collaborative thread that spiraled off into a 150,000+ word odyssey about Zeke and Pieck after the canon events of the series. Chapters will be posted semi-regularly as we edit them, beginning on Zeke’s birthday.

Summary
“Are you afraid?”
It’s not the question she expects. A good question, of course, but not the one she expects.
“No, I’m not.” It’s an honest answer, and she lets it hang between them as she lifts her cup to her lips, feeling the hot liquid burn her tongue a little. She lets the feeling linger for a moment before letting it heal. “I’m tired, Chief. Thirteen years is a long time to do this. I’m starting to feel it.” She laughs again, more at hearing herself put it so elegantly. It sounds so much better than describing the way her hips splay out worse than they should, her joints weakening, the way it’s become so much harder to walk on two feet, as if she’s more titan than human. “It’s time.”
She blinks, and for a brief moment, she sees someone else sitting across from her, sees him in his last few days with his grey beard and his dimming eyes.
She blinks again and Colt is back, blond and bright, still with that bit of starlight behind his eyes.
“I’m ready for tomorrow.”
On the eve of her inheritance ceremony, Pieck spends the evening with Colt and finds that his predecessor is more present in him than she could have possibly imagined.

Summary
“Let me help you. You know there’s a better chance of this working if you have at least one more warrior on your side.” One more warrior, as if she’s not the best option.
He looks at her again, at her, and she knows she’s said the right thing.
“I’ve only got one more year after you.” She swallows, eyes darting away for a moment before coming back up to meet his. “I want it to count for something.”
Pieck finds out about Zeke's euthanasia plan and, after considering all of her options, decides to help him.

Summary
Her uniform is in shreds, as if the inside of the titan has been eating away at it this whole time. As her skin rips away from the steaming, decaying body, her clothes seem to stay with it, finding their final resting place alongside the remains of the cart. They’ll melt into the ground and evaporate into the air, same as the rest of the titan. It’s fine, she thinks. A new uniform is a small price to pay for her assistance in the ongoing war. Marley can afford it.
