Summary
Things have changed since Naruto and Sai first met. They're older now, busier, and life hasn't made it easy for them to spend time together like they once did. Sai's trying not to take it personally, trying not to fall so deep in negativity, but it's hard when dark thoughts stain his mind like black ink on a blank canvas.
When a mind-controlling genjutsu wielder takes advantage of Sai's weakened state of mind, Naruto does his best to ease Sai's pain and comfort him however he can. After all, if there's one person who can bring a smile to Sai's lips, it's his blond, blue-eyed best friend.
Or
Sai goes on a mission to the Land of Silence and comes back worse off than when he left. Naruto tries to fix things and maybe slip in a confession or two while he's at it.
