“Listen, I don’t mean to alarm you,” Nanaba started, after she’d shown Mikasa to her classroom and how to log in to her computer. “But you really do need to watch out for Jaeger. I tried to warn Petra but she didn’t take me seriously. And now…” she trailed off, for effect or out of genuine emotion, Mikasa couldn’t tell. “Well, she’s on bedrest for the rest of her pregnancy.”
Mikasa looked up from her assigned computer. “What exactly is this kid’s problem?” While she waited for Nanaba’s answer, she looked down at the attendance sheet that had been printed out for her, each name followed by a grainy grayscale portrait. Even from the small photo, she could tell Eren Jaeger was good-looking, harsh and sharp in the way of boys who were known to cause trouble. The exact kind that she had been into, when she’d been in high school. Unwillingly, her eyes flicked over to his birth date.
He was eighteen.
