As he entered the chilly hockey rink, Shane couldn’t help but wonder if Ilya Rozanov was all the media had cut him out to be.
I mean sure, he was tall, quick, and handsome (not that that’s relevant, though); and yes, he was an Alpha. The secondary gender didn’t mean anything to Shane; it was just another label people used to shit-talk on the ice. He’d heard enough insults and chirps for a lifetime about being one of few Omegas in his league.
“Hollander!” Hayden called, interrupting Shane’s thoughts and forcing him to put on his falsetto media-trained smile.
“Buddy,” he replied, bumping helmets with his left-wing mate.
“We’re gonna crush this, all right?” Hayden assured.
“For sure,” Shane replied, skating to the center of the rink to begin his stretches.
