    He swallowed thickly before letting out a wet cough, more blood splattering into his hand as he moved it up to cover his mouth, his chest aching and vision blurry either from tears or the hit he had taken to his head.

    He would die soon if he didn't do anything, he knew that well, but he'd already made his choice– This was no last resort, he wasn't the only person alive, George and Sapnap were still here, still fighting, and they would've come to help if they thought he was worth it.
    He knew what they would choose, that they wouldn't come– He trusted them not to.

     

    or, because of past events Dream doesn't think his team will come and help him when he gets injured, and really, it's the only thing he actually believes in.
