Summary
One faithful day in winter, Bilbo finds the most beautiful animal he has ever seen. A raven, as big as the night sky and piercing blue eyes like stars. It takes away his breath as they reach the Shire.
One faithful day in summer, the raven leaves the hobbit alone once again. That familiar pain of loneliness comes back like an old friend.
He hopes beyond hope that the next seasons would gift him once again the opportunity to see his dear friend, and they listen, just not in the way he expected.

Summary
Bilbo has always been the odd one at The Shire, he has never belonged anywhere. After the unexpected journey with Thorin's company, he found warmth and comfort in what he considers a family.
Maybe this is why hobbits don’t go on adventures, they suddenly want to be elsewhere but the place they've always occupied.
Without him there'd be no Erebor, he had the right to consider it 'home'. But did the Lonely Mountain or the king under it believe the same?
