I was the first victim. (Solas)
-- A year before the Inquisition was formed, an apostate elf by the name Solas ended his Uthenera to proceed with his Din'anshiral to break the Veil and restore the world of the Elvhen. What he never expected was what would forever change him: Inquisitor Lavellan.
This story is told in First Person through Solas as he is swept into the Inquisition and more importantly, in his growing feelings for its Inquisitor. Also, there is a possible fan theory on the events to redeem Solas after Trespasser.

Tania Lavellan has been living in Skyhold city and attending SHU (Skyhold University) for a year after deciding to leave the comforts of their clan's trailer camp to seek more meaningful experiences. They quickly made a couple friends, despite being a rare spectacle for the people of Skyhold. Just as they were getting comfortable, things begin to shake Tania's world after they meet a mysterious elven barista and an odd pale man.
CONTENT WARNING: alcohol consumption, death, blood and gore, Solas (and probably other characters as well) being insufferable
Note: I have been sitting on this fic for almost a decade now. It has been on my hard drive for too long, and it is my baby. It's dumb and cliché in many ways but I am determined to finish it. I am deciding to edit it and post it in honor of The Veilguard coming out!

Mi'Dirtha Lavellan never meant to get caught up in the matters of the Conclave at the Temple of Sacred Ashes. She was there to observe and spy on the shemlen for her people, reporting back on the historic events playing out in the South of Thedas. The ongoing conflicts between their mages and templars have already affected her clan, and as their Defender, sworn to lead their hunters, it's her job to protect them.
Now, with the strange mark burned into her hand and her entire team killed in the explosion, she has to find a way forward. She has to get back to the Free Marches at any cost.
When all around her are the shemlen she has hated and feared for as long as she can remember, screaming for her execution one minute and then suddenly relying on her to save them all the next, Mi'Dirtha draws close to the one person she trusts. He is a strange and arrogant unmarked elf who doesn't call her Herald, doesn't bow in her presence, and challenges her at every turn.

Summary
Inana Lavellan can't see most things - not in the waking world, anyway. The Fade is another matter, shining like a beacon just beyond the Veil. She loves the Fade, where everything is clear. Most clear of all is the spirit-teacher she has had for as long as she can remember. He taught her when she was still a child how to interact with spirits without fear. He shows her ancient dreams and memories. He talks with her about magic and philosophy. She has learned so much from him that it hardly even matters that their timelines seem to meet at random, and he doesn't always - or even often - remember who she is.
Imagine her surprise when her dreams lead her to the Conclave, compassion leads her to the burned-out temple in the wake of the explosion, necessity leads her to begin attempting to close the Breach - and she discovers that the spirit she has known all her life exists in the waking world as a man calling himself Solas.

Summary
Two years after leaving the Inquisition, and two years after being left behind by Solas for the final time, Sarissa is adjusting to life in her clan in Wycome. She's no longer First of her clan, no longer Inquisitor, no longer Herald of Andraste - and has no idea what that leaves her with. As she's trying to figure this out, the elvhen god Elgar'nan sets his sights on her as the key to reclaiming the world he lost to the Dread Wolf, Fen Harel. Sarissa must team up (very unwillingly) with Solas or risk letting the world fall into ruin again.
