Summary
It is too much to expect recovery after so many consecutive wars. Life was dying in the galaxy and The Force, the embodiment of all that is alive, refused to let that happen. And like all things living, the Force worked to fix itself. It chose a focal point for its grand design and began moving the parts of its cosmic machinery to purge itself of all its contaminants.
Too bad no one else got the memo.
