In a home full of silence, Kaveh feels the need to escape - if only for one night. An unexpected event leads to long-since buried feelings being revealed amidst a haze of recovery and vulnerability.
(Alternatively: It only takes Kaveh being attacked for him and Alhaitham to realise how much they do actually care for each other. Which, as it happens, is a lot.)

Summary
When the door opened, albeit having expected to see Alhaitham staring down at him, he still felt a part of him tug him away from the place. But, he stood there, swallowing his pride as the rain poured mercilessly over him.
Alhaitham didn’t say anything. He merely looked up at the rain and then back at Kaveh.
“I didn’t know where else to go,” Kaveh said.

Summary
Something in the air around them was tinged with darkness. One wrong word and Alhaitham silently feared that Kaveh would slip too far to one side and he wouldn’t be fast enough to catch his wrist, wouldn’t be strong enough to drag him back to safety. Here was the limited balance that existed between a good day and a bad day.
Unease was building somewhere at the back of Alhaitham’s mind, collecting in his stomach like a puddle of rainwater, cold and unpleasant. When Kaveh remained silent for another moment, Alhaitham spoke again, “What’s stupid?”

Perhaps it should not instill in him such a deep sense of relief to have control wrested so completely away. Perhaps he should struggle more, although such an expenditure of energy at this point would be needlessly taxing.
