"President of the A/V club, Michael Wheeler."
Mike for short. Sixteen years of age. Two and some change of them as just some guy, and one of them as a man. Spider-Man, to be exact. He's currently drenched in the head-splitting fluorescent light of the Midtown High School hallway, shooting a terrible ad for a not-so-terrible club. To his right is Lucas Sinclair, head reporter of the A/V club and Will's best friend. In front of him, about seven feet away, is William Byers, videographer of the A/V club and one of his closest friends. Best friend was a title Dustin Henderson had reserved in the fourth grade and had no intention of sharing.High School is hard enough with one secret identity, let alone two. Mike balances the struggles of being both a trans man and Spider-Man.

Summary
Five years after high-school graduation, Will starts working for the Usher Foundation: a "research" facility fixated on the supernatural. At first, he suspects it'll be nothing more than ghost stories and a steady, just above minimum wage paycheck. As he looks deeper, however, he realizes that there are much worse things lurking under the surface than he's ever seen before. His whole world turns upside down again when he finds the statement of his old friend Mike Wheeler, only this time, they'll need to work together if they want to make it out.

Summary
Will comes out as gay, which is fine, really. What's not fine is that right after, Lucas joins the basketball team, and all of a sudden Will becomes VERY interested in sports. Mike takes it well. From his perspective.

Mike snorts. Loudly. Everyone turns to look at him, and he falls silent.
Max peers at him. “You got something to say, Wheeler?”
Mike shrugs. Then the alcohol gets the best of him. “I’d fuck Spider-Man.”
Will chokes on his water.
Mike’s devised a plan. If he lets himself crush on Spider-Man, then he can work on getting over Will, his roommate and best friend who's clearly uninterested. It's foolproof, really.

He doesn’t mean it like that – in a romantic way. It’s just what he feels – that Will is his superhero, brave and smart and always there for Mike – and he was thinking about superheroes anyway, what with that Spider-guy from YouTube, and Mike is groaning and letting his head thump against his desk because he is really, truly head over heels in love with Will.
He’s learned to control it a bit better, tamp it down into something manageable, because Will’s his best friend and also the best person he knows, and he deserves better than Mike stumbling over himself every time Will flashes him a smile with those bunny teeth or puts his cold feet under Mike’s thighs on the couch.
Plus, Will has a boyfriend. That’s definitely – a deterrent, to put it kindly.
will has been sneaking around more and more, and mike's convinced that he has a secret boyfriend. the appearance of a local web-slinger is probably unrelated.
