Summary
“Eddie, be serious. You can’t possibly be okay with this. We’re married. You’re my husband.”
And that sounds nice, doesn’t it?
He has a husband.
“Why wouldn’t I be okay with it?” Eddie asks genuinely. “I’m sure you’ll be a great husband. I mean, you’ve been a great husband so far. We can just keep doing what we’ve been doing, it’ll be fine.”
“That’s—that’s not—” Buck cuts himself off to point out, “You’re not gay!”
Well, that’s just—
“Semantics,” Eddie says casually. “Barely relevant.”

(Buck and Eddie get married, break up with their partners, and find out they’re husbands. In that order.)

Summary
“Okay, stay with me, what’s your name sir?” Chimney asks, tapping Eddie on the side of the face.
Buck can’t imagine his husband dead or else he’ll spiral and then Eddie really will be dead.
God, this is really happening.
Eddie mumbles something incoherent.
“C’mon, speak up buddy, stay with me here,” Chimney says, moving to splint his arm. Buck speaks without thinking.
“It’s Eddie.”

Summary
It’s not like it’s a surprise. He knows Eddie can take his weight, he’s watched him for years carrying heavy equipment and lifting patients. He knows what Eddie benches at the gym. It’s just– it’s one thing to be conceptually aware of something and another to be handed incontrovertible proof of it. Plus, this is Buck at his biggest, his broadest, his strongest. He’s tall and heavy, he isn’t an easy man to carry, most people would find it impossible and lots more would struggle, and here’s Eddie, catching him like it’s nothing.
*
Buck discovers Eddie is strong enough to take his weight and then proceeds to be really normal about that fact, repeatedly.
