Summary
Tony doesn’t waste another minute as he grabs a can of Coke, a bag of Funyuns, and heads up to the counter with disgust evident in his features. Little words are said until he lays down a few dollar bills and starts toward the door.
The bearded-man catches him with a cold smile. “Have a good night, you sick son of a bitch,” he says, and Tony leaves without sparing a glance.
He doesn’t bother dwelling on what the man said as he fumbles for his car keys. With the bag of Funyuns between his teeth and the can of Coke stuffed beneath his arm, he digs around each pocket—from his pants to his jacket—to find the key fob. An odd sound meets his ear before he can hit the unlock button.
Is something... crying?

With powdered donut dust on his fingers, Tony set off down another aisle of tables with poster boards towering high. He ignored the occasional snap of a sneaky camera, smiled at anyone who was too shy to say hello, and channeled fake excitement whenever another potato clock went well. Tony couldn’t believe that he had ended up here.
He passed three aquaponics presentations, two Venus flytrap experiments, and a miniature Mars Rover that had fallen clean off of the table. And then something new caught his eye. His feet came to a sudden halt.
The curly-haired kid standing in front of the table was much smaller than the rest. He stared up at Tony with large eyes as he adjusted his glasses.
“Hey, kid,” Tony greeted. “Wanna show me what you’ve got?”

Tony, regrettably, is forced to be a guest judge at a science fair in Queens. There, he meets ten-year-old Peter Parker.

another explosion comes and goes and, as usual, refuses to take robert with it. with the fate of the suit uncertain, he’s forced to confront the truth he’s been avoiding: the suit might never give him the ending he’d spent half his life expecting. which leaves him with the one outcome he’s utterly unprepared for—being alive in a room full of people who actually give a shit.
