Summary
Since the beginning of times, there's been a war between humans and ghouls. Neither side was winning, nor were the lives being taken important; what both feared the most was extermination, and they were trying to avoid it at all costs.
In which Hide and Kaneki play a big role for both parties, and they're surrounded by nothing but tragedy. This is a story of how Kaneki learns to love himself, before he could love anyone else. About how Hide learns to face himself before he could face anyone else. In short, a very long slow burn.
