Fear, love, and adrenaline are the only things giving Mike the strength to carry him this far. He would’ve dropped Will in the first few seconds (he isn’t strong, he’s always been a twig) if it weren’t the love of his life in his arms.
A few minutes later, he sees it. He relaxes, seeing the orange goo surround the gate, as he lifts the timer.

“What I’m great at staying still.” Mike argued, trying to move away mainly because he felt his face becoming hot at Will’s touch, and he didn’t want to seem obvious.
“There we go, you look... Decent now.” Will said, smiling.
“Decent? I thought you saw me as handsome?” Oh my god there’s no way he’s flirting with Will in front of his mom and sister. Does he seem obvious? He hopes he’s not obvious.

Summary
Mike can't sleep. It's raining, it's cold, and Will is shivering in his sleep again. He can't do anything about it. At least, that's what he thinks.
Will hasn't had a good night sleep in years. First it was the Mind Flayer. Now, Vecna is always there, right behind his eyelids, tormenting him with images he'd rather keep safely tucked away in the recesses of his mind. With the Upside Down bleeding into the Rightside Up, his sense of what's real and what's all in his head is getting harder to decipher.

Summary
Eleventh was where it truly hits Mike, he was somehow absolutely head over heels for the boy who was barely opening up to him. He knew his favorite colors, his favorite school subjects, he had art from him, his favorite type of music, his favorite book, but those were all trivial things. Though, he knew the body language Will gave off when he was about to go quiet, and how to stop it somehow. Mike thought that was good enough to justify being nearly in love with Will.
This was when he started Operation: Get Will To Be My Boyfriend.
