Summary
Leta Sangha is a McLaren racing engineer who spends most of her year traveling with the circus that is the Formula 1 paddock and the rest of her time caring for her ailing grandfather, a motorsport superfan who practically raised her. Like any good engineer, she compartmentalizes problems so she can solve them one by one. To add another human into the equation of her life—an unpredictable, emotional human—feels like too much, even on her best days.
But when McLaren signs a new driver and her grandfather's health begins to decline, Leta's carefully organized life seems to explode. And it's possible that the only person who can help her put it back together is a quick-witted Australian whose intense gaze she just can't seem to shake.

“I’m not so drunk that I don’t know what I’m asking you,” Max said.
Charles swallowed the lump in his throat. “Me either.”
“So, is that a yes?”
“Are you sure about this?” Charles asked instead, laughing unbelievably and shaking his head. “This is not something we do, mate.”
“It could be something we do,” Max said, grinning at him. His fingers flexed on Charles’ hip, and it did something weird to Charles’ brain. When he looked back on this moment later, he would blame Max’s big hand on his hip for what he did next.
Because for some reason... Charles kissed him.
He wasn’t sure why.
