   Summary

   It wasn’t love. Armand had lived centuries to know what was love and what was not. Maybe he did love Daniel, maybe that was why he couldn’t bring himself to stay around him long enough to prove it. But Daniel did not love him, and he would not allow himself to push that feeble narrative into the head of someone who he would step into 1000 blazing suns over. He couldn’t bring himself to hurt Daniel that way, no matter how arduous it was to leave him each morning, slinking back into darkness and dreadful silence of his coffin.
