Summary
You were just minding your business and were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. You saw a scholar smuggling canned knowledge with eremites and decided that it wasn't in your right to intervine, so you took a step back to leave.
Oh how luck was on your side.
Now, here you are bound in ropes as your mouth is taped shut, the scholar and eremites robbing you in the middle of the desert. After assuring that you had no photo evidence of any of this happening, they turned around to leave. Only for the scholar to stop and turn back to you with a wicked grin.
"Hey, you know what's more useful than canned knowledge?"
