Summary
“Buck, I don’t know. I don’t know what you want me to say.”
“Anything, Eddie! Literally anything honest! I feel like we have conversation after conversation, and nothing actually gets said. I don’t know what’s changed, and I am literally begging you to talk to me! I miss you, I miss our friendship, I miss… us,” Buck runs out of steam towards the end, his voice breaking.
In which Buck can't handle the distance growing between himself and Eddie anymore, and finally tries to address it.

Summary
“My husband does the same thing when we’re out together,” says the man.
Eddie’s mind is eerily blank at that.
“Huh?”
“Oh, I just mean the way your husband just took off, mine does the same thing. He gets distracted by something and ditches me!” The man is chuckling slightly to himself.
Husband?
Husband.
Buck?
~~~
One person refers to Buck as Eddie's husband and he will never be normal again. -
Summary
Buck ducks his head and chuckles lightly. When he looks up, he stares into Eddie’s eyes, his expression much more solemn, a sad pout tugging on his lips, “I wish I had someone who would buy me just because flowers.”
***
Summary
Eddie is gay.
And in love with his best friend.
The thought causes a strangled cry to rip from his throat and he’s sobbing again, rocking back and forth, curling in on himself with each rock. He feels lightheaded at the admission.
No no no no no no NO.
He’d never felt more alive than when he was kissing Buck. He was held, caressed, wanted in a way Eddie had never experienced before, and had never been deserving of before. He’s not deserving of it now either. Buck kissed him like Eddie was worthy of love.
Summary
“No, no, it’s all good man. I’m sorry I scared you, I should’ve said something before so you knew it was me. I just assumed you had talked to Maddie.”
“Wait, I called you Mads, did you not think that was weird?” Buck knits his brows together.
“Oh… I heard ‘Eds.’” Eddie stares dumbly down at Buck.
They both start hysterically laughing at that.
In which Maddie is tasked with taking care of Buck after wisdom teeth surgery. Until she has to call in a replacement. Good thing Buck has such a good friend to take care of him.
Summary
The first snowfall in Boston that year brings several things: a heavy layer of dirty snow coating all the roads of the city; a freezing, threatening cold to the air both inside and out; all incoming flights to Logan getting grounded before they could even think about taking off; and the breaking rumors that Ilya Rozanov is fucking men in his spare time.
Summary
“Should I mark you here?” Ilya teases anyway, placing another open-mouth kiss to the thin skin of Hollander’s neck. “Let them all see how much fun you had tonight with your Lily?"
He expects Hollander to shove him off at the mere suggestion, or at least tell him to fuck off. Instead, Hollander lets out a low, throaty whine as he thrusts against Ilya’s thigh— the hard, hot line of his cock pressing into him like a brand.
Or: Shane's teammates think he's out spending the night with a mystery woman. He and Ilya take the opportunity to indulge in something they never have before.
Summary
“You can’t tell me I didn’t pick you,” Eddie says, voice shaking, “when you never put yourself on the table to begin with.”
Buck just looks at him—tired, concussed, past pretending.
“Eddie, I’ve been on the table for years. Jesus Christ—I built the damn table. I sanded it, stained it, set a fucking place for you at it. I waited for you to sit down. Do you know what it does to a person to love a life they're not actually part of? To be allowed everywhere but chosen nowhere?”
Or, a collapsing stairwell, years of swallowed feelings, and a fight that finally forces the words out.
Summary
They stared at one another from across the table.
“L-Look at us, just a couple of complete strangers on a date,” Buck wheezed, his face flushed and eyes alight with something Eddie couldn’t quite place.
“Yep,” he smiled back, trying to temper his sudden nerves.
Clearing his throat, he leaned forward and offered his hand.
An adorable line furrowed Buck’s brow before he took it, his hand engulfed by Eddie’s and gripping him tight.
An electric zing shot up Eddie’s arm when their fingers met. He tried to ignore it. (And failed).
“So,” he made a show of reading Buck’s nametag as their hands dropped, “Evan. We’ve got six minutes. What do you wanna talk about?”
