The room turned sour with the scent of sad omega, “Do you not like me too?” sniffed Jon, he blamed the heat for all the feelings that were bubbling to the surface.
Martin’s heart broke, clearly the Archivist had been rejected before, maybe even too many times judging by how insecure he sounded, he knew how mean people could be if you didn't fit into one of their neatly labelled boxes. The impulse to tell Jon everything was back and he didn't have the mind to stop the words from tumbling from his mouth.
“Oh Jon, how can you say that, I’ve been in love with you since the moment we met. I just don't want to pressure you into making a decision you might come to regret.”

“You want me to go with you” It wasn't a question, James knew the ins and outs of the older Farnon’s mind by now. The real query here was if he really wanted to take the next step. Kissing Siegfried had been great and the way he said boy sent shivers down his spine but he had never been with a man before. He had fumbled around with guys in college but nothing serious, always in the darkest hours of the night and under the influence of unhealthy amounts of alcohol. This wasn't the same if he followed through there was no going back, Siegfried was a good man, he wouldn't hold it against James if it didn't work out but his life was finally getting a purpose, he couldn't throw it to the wind could he?
