"Yuuji...just come here and promise you won't freak the fuck out."
Yuuji gulped as he felt his skin tingle and his hands get sweaty. Slowly, he walked towards Yuuta, his heart pounding out of his chest as everyone's gaze followed his form.
This is really scary. What's happening? Who's the person? Why is everyone staring at me like I'm not supposed to be here?
Finally, Yuuji stopped short of Yuuta and stared at the sorcerer.
"What the hell is going on, Yuuta?"
All Yuuta did was raise a slow finger and point at the TV he was previously watching. Not able to hold it in anymore, Yuuji's head swung at the TV and looked at whatever was on the screen.
This time, it was Yuuji's turn to feel his heart stop and stare in his own wide-eyed expression.
No way in hell that's who that was.
He was standing right here, watching the broadcast like everyone else.
And yet, that face was unbelievably a match to his. Even the scars were, and so the hair.
"Yuuta...How the hell am I down there right now?"

“That’s an ugly pet you’ve got there,” Satoru comments, peering over Yuuji’s shoulder for a better look at the blob of baby-pink flesh he’s cradling.
A baleful red eye bores into him. “Gojou Satoru—”
“I think he’s kinda cute.”
Sukuna’s comically tiny mouth—made all the more hilarious by how the voice coming from within is still his deep bass—snaps shut, that single eye swiveling back to Yuuji while dripping offense and incredulity.
“Cute?” Satoru asks, joining Sukuna in staring at Yuuji.
There’s an unrepentant shrug. “Like a very weird cat. I think he’d be a cat, if he were an animal. You too, sensei. Different types, though. Very different.”
“You’ve…put a lot of thought into this,” Satoru says faintly.
“I’ve had a lot of time to think.” Yuuji smiles. The first smile Satoru’s seen from him, and all he can think is that Yuuji should never, ever smile—not like this. “Hey, Sukuna? If I give you the choice to stay with me, you’ll just say no again, right?”
In one world, death snatches Satoru away from the arms of victory. In this one, his student saves him from the jaws of death.
But this isn’t the Yuuji he knows.

"What?" Lumine asks impatiently. And then it hits her. The grave error and stupidity she had just committed. "...Fuck."
"Did he drink it—"
"I don't know, I don't think so?"
"Well, you offered it to him without a second thought, you smooth brain! He probably has emptied the bottle now—"
"Oh, fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck. God, I'm such an idiot! Aether, what are we going to do?!" Lumine asks with a strained voice.
"We gotta go and find him, duh, before he finds you first!"
Lumine pales. She looks like she's going to throw up. "Ravenclaw common room. Let's go!"
