Summary
Rhonda doesn't hate that Quinn is in her personal space, not really. Not like she wants to. The girl, oddly, has become a comfort, an anchor, a tether to herself when she spirals.
What Rhonda hates is how she feels about Quinn. And how she hasn't let herself feel this way in a long, long time.
"You know you don't have to sit here with me, Quinn. All I'm doing is reading." Rhonda pokes her eyes around the side of her book, looking down at Quinn, whose head is lying in her lap.
She doesn't know when Quinn started doing that, or when she felt so comfortable allowing it.

Quinn never went to prom, never got the chance. She died a sophomore, not old enough to attend, and even if she could she's sure nobody would have wanted to go with her.
Rhonda floats into her mind, unbidden, as she stares out the window. She and Rhonda have had this dance between them, unchoreographed, unplanned, going with whatever feels right, and Quinn's not sure when she wants it to stop. If she's courageous enough to grab Rhonda's hand just as the record player stops, pull her forward, and show her all of the words she can't seem to say. She's not sure if Rhonda would go to prom with her.
