It was in the line of her shoulders, so eerily at ease, muscles uncoiled and relaxed at all times. Like a snake before striking.
It was in the curve of her mouth, when she took just a moment too long to paste on that soft, disarming smile.
It was in the irises of her jade eyes, and the cold apathy or unhinged excitement or pure, unadulterated rage that washed over them in moments when she thought nobody was looking.
Yes.
There was something very, terribly wrong with Haruno Sakura.

Summary
Officially, Lieutenant Ren Cross only had 1 deployment and a couple solo opps under their belt. Not nearly enough experience for the Lieutenant position, which was already questionable due to their age. However, anyone important enough with high enough clearance to ever need to see this particular soldier's file, was also aware that this was only the above board file. Officially, Ren Cross was a special forces Lieutenant, unofficially, Ren Cross was known only as operative Crow.
A file with more blacked out information than not. Operative Crow and Ren Cross existed as two entirely separate entities. Different people with different lives, different names, different priorities, and different feelings.
Operative Crow did not exist outside of the shadows. No registration number, no country of origin or citizenship, all classified to hell and back with enough missions and deployments to put even some of the most experienced operatives to shame.
Operative Crow did not exist outside the shadows, and Ren Cross barely existed at all.
Until they did.
