Summary
Very angsty Wish Realm arc AU, where it takes a normal amount of time to carve a wardrobe.
After Regina leaves in 6.11 to search for Robin but she comes back, alone. Emma remembers who she is, but they have no immediate way back to Storybrooke. Their magic bean was wasted and King Henry is tearing after them, set on revenge. Frayed and carrying the baggage of their cracked relationship, they hide in the forest where the ghosts grow as thick as the trees.

“You know…” Emma whispers to the dark, “Having a lifetime of false memories implanted between today and yesterday has given me a lot of distance.”
Emma pauses, waiting for Regina to respond. But Regina, yet again, does not answer. Her lips remain sealed when it comes to anything that might pitch their emotions too high, anything that might bring them to that brink of swirling need again.
Emma continues, “Some people, when they’re doing things like giving hope speeches, would say distance would give me clarity.”
“Clarity regarding what?”
“I think you know what.”

Summary
In the aftermath of the Curse of Shattered Sight, Emma is looking for a chance to start up that friendship she had promised in Regina's vault, Regina too absent and preoccupied with Robin and Marian for it to have progressed since. Her opportunity finally comes in the form of a favour and a freak summer blizzard that leaves Regina and Emma stranded and alone in Granny's diner. With the line between redemption and reparations blurring, Emma, in her search for a perfect friendship (and the stirrings of something more), goes too far.
Takes place in 4.11, going AU from Heros and Villans after Regina returns Marian's heart.

Instead, all she has is a missing year, a distraught son, a town ready to tear itself apart, an empty mansion on Mifflin Street with a mysterious green barrier, and...And a grainy picture from a poorly scanned page from an equestrian magazine. A picture of a woman living halfway across the country who has a familiar face, a life free of strife, and, buried somewhere in her lost memories, all the answers.

Why? All because Emma walked in on Regina cooking in her underwear.

But there are menacing forces at work, and Regina is surrounded by palace intrigue in which everyone has an unspoken agenda– even the woman she's trying to save.
Six weeks later, Regina and the others wake up in Storybrooke with no memory of what transpired in Camelot. What they do know: Emma is no longer the woman they loved. She is bent on vengeance that will bring Storybrooke to its knees. It's very possible that she can never be saved.
And she blames Regina for it all.

“Cmon, Regina! It’ll be fun.”
“Please, Miss Swan,” Emma ignored that, knowing she was trying to get under her skin, “enlighten me on what’s so fun about All Hallow’s Eve?”
“Oh my god, nothing when you say it like that.” Regina’s lips formed a hard line and she went to pick back up her paper but Emma was relentless. “I mean, you know.” Emma’s hands waved around wildly, maybe because she was grasping. “It’s an escape from the realities of everyday life. You can take everyday problems and turn them into ghosts and monsters and…. stuff.”
Regina was unimpressed. “Monsters? You forget, we live in Storybrooke, dear. That’s a normal Tuesday here.”
Or, Emma wants to go all out for her and Regina’s first Halloween as a couple. Chaos ensues? And a lot of bad puns.
