Summary
It's time to come home. Legolas and Gimli journey home, finally confront their families, and—yes—get married. Again. There's no way to know how everything will turn out, but they're in it together, no matter what.
This is the final installment of my Gimli/Legolas annotated journey through Lord of the Rings, and covers most of what is mentioned about them in the Appendices.

Summary
The following things have something in common: a drag show, lemon torte, a Queen concert. The piles of burning mail and repeated Death Eater attacks seem to be unrelated--though the latter are quite a lot less funny. And unavoidable. And getting more frequent.
Sirius and Remus aren't sure how they started accidentally going on double dates with Lily and James, but here they are, and it's not like they can exactly say no. Life after Hogwarts is weird.
This work is part of a series that is thematically connected, but each work stands on its own in terms of continuity and plot.

Summary
Legolas and Gimli have come through darkness and danger, battle and war, to this: the precipice of all that they're trying to achieve, and all that they both want. But it's not over, and there's more darkness yet ahead, more still that they must overcome before they can find what comes next when war is over and peace is found.
This is the Return of the King installment of my Gimli/Legolas annotated journey through Lord of the Rings.

Summary
Legolas and Gimli journey on together, growing closer and closer. As they make new friends, come to new places, and discover more things about each other, one thing remains constant: they are equally devoted to each other and bound up in each other's fate. And yet there's a gap between them that they can't quite seem to close.
This is the Two Towers installment of my Gimli/Legolas annotated journey through Lord of the Rings.

Summary
How Gimli and Legolas slowly changed their minds about each other, or, a Gimli/Legolas annotated journey through Lord of the Rings that no one asked for. Featuring arguments and misunderstandings, kindness and growth, and the Fellowship growing close, learning about each other, and becoming a found family.
This is a four-part series; one for each book, and one for the Appendices.

Summary
A misunderstanding over future living arrangements leads to a ridiculous but necessary walk down memory lane. Remus is stubborn, Sirius is smitten, James is unusually helpful, Peter is around somewhere, and Lily is (as usual) the only reasonable person in the room. Someone turns themself pink and sparkly. Someone else has an assumed name.
All of them are preparing for a war they're itching to fight, while wondering what's going to become of them when they leave the school that's brought them so much joy.

Summary
James makes a list to try and figure out why Sirius is mad at him and Remus thinks he's an idiot. It goes astonishingly well. There are realizations, and confessions, though not in that order. (Remus was right: James is an idiot. An extremely oblivious idiot.)

Summary
The days are measured as such: before Monday, and after Monday. The "after" days come one by one yet all at once, while James watches his friends fracture, and tries to help put them back together. In the end, it requires more than a single motorbike ride or bar of chocolate. It requires learning when to run and when to stand still, when to talk and when to say nothing, when to interfere and when to leave them to it.
However.
The motorbike helped. So did the deluge of rabbits. Maybe "after" won't be so bad as all that.

Summary
The boys make fake IDs, sneak out of Hogwarts, get Muggle tattoos, prank the whole school, perform illegal magic (lots of it), listen to godless rock music, and win Lily Evans over with talk of turntables and anesthesia. It's more wholesome than it sounds. Also, there's a dance party.

Summary
James puts two and two together, acquires several baseless honorifics, and pulls Lily into this mess. They scheme. Sirius pines. No one sets any trees on fire.
