Young Naruto struggles in school not because of his skill but the adult’s ignorance and fear that deny his education and support needed to succeed. Even when he succeeds once, he still gets accused and punished for ‘cheating’ without proof. The fact he realized today is his 6th birthday doesn’t improve his mood.
What will the Third Hokage do on his 6th birthday visit once he finds out about Naruto’s problem? Will he realize the consequences it is having on Naruto’s mental health? Or will he just push aside Naruto’s poor academic performance just like his mistreatment by the village? Or will he attempt to ‘fix’ it and believe it is enough for Naruto to be alright on his own?
